I am in the midst of photographing seniors from around the area. They are the Class of 2011 …. WOW!

I should feel old, but photographing these kids keeps me young. Although it is bad, when you remember photographing them as babies.

The kids come with some of their own ideas, and then I elaborate on them.

Whitney Masters a Wapahani High Senior. Got the idea of her prom dress in the creek from watching a trash the dress wedding shoot. It was so much fun. She almost looks like a fairy. I might even create that look for a later painterly image.

Another beautiful Wapahani High Senior, Lindsay Steed. I thought Lindsay had the most awesome eyes!

Autumn Delk is a senior at the Indiana Academy in Muncie. She is a hometown girl, so we just wandered around town to get some images.

I have had a few boys as well.  Michael Heavilon is a senior from Yorktown High School. I just love Black and White images. If I thought I could I would just shoot monotone.

The “Twin sons of different mothers” is Derek Kaufman (in the front) a senior at Union High School. He wanted to have his surrogate brother from Germany in some of his portraits.

These are just a sample of some of the work I have been doing this season.

I still have appointment times so feel free to call inquire or even book! I always have fun doing seniors and I hope that they do too. So far it seems that way!

I must admit I am terrible at posting the work I’ve been up to.

A couple of reasons: Time…well not really that, More like there are things I would rather be doing like taking more pictures. Also I want my clients to see their pictures first, and by the time that has happened I have moved on to a new project.

So I will post some mom and baby things. I seem to be doing more of these lately.

I also am starting to really push for the newborns, 5-10 days old. I have some new ideas and need these miniature people to be guinea pigs for me. So if you know of anyone having a baby, get them in touch with me!

But meanwhile here are some sweet images I took of Baby Claire and her mommy Katie. She was precious, a little too big to try out my new stuff, but still I think we got adorable pictures.

So that is it for now.

Hopefully I will be able to post some updates of the itty bitty babies. Keep an eye out.

So here for your entertainment is Alex and Ashley Jennings. I have been photographing them since they were first born. It is always fun, as with any set of twins. I think this year was the first where they both  happy at the same time.

They are 5 now and do love to play. We would go from so cute an innocent to full fledged goofy. I love the goofy…..but moms love the sweet innocent poses.

Alex loves to kiss his sister, but she tries to move away from it!

So a good solid hug instead…almost a strangle, but not quite!

Then bring up Santa, and they settle down to give mom pleasing expressions.

The day was finally dry. So we were able to go outside. The wind was a challenge, but it did add some interest.

She has a great smile.

Also a real cool sober look.

She was a great model, and I had fun experimenting.

This fun couple got married at Gabe’s grandfather’s pond. Counldn’t have asked for better weather!

Of course there was abeautiful sunset to end the evening on.

I selected many images to give a flavor of the day, the rustic setting, the fun, all the thought that went to making this there special day. The gallery follows.

I have a passion for horses so it is always a pleasure when I can photograph them.

Two senior girls from the Muncie area asked me to take their pictures with their steeds. It was so cool.

Both girls are into showing their horses, Eventing and jumping. The horses were magnificent Thoroughbred Hanoverian crosses.

This is Katie and Legend. He is an absolutely beautiful gelding. He was a bit of handful at first, but we did get him to give some great poses!

This is Taylor and Jilly (not sure if that is the correct spelling) Jilly was a lovely mare, a little bit more sedate than Legend, but she still performed well. It just took a little more to get those ears in the right direction.

Nothing better than a girls and her horse.

Taylor’s session was on her family’s property. That was cool because there was fields and paths through wooded areas.

We took Katies pictures in a park in Yorktown, I loved the creek, and how green it was.

Adorable don’t you think?

Anyway as cute as she is not without challenges, which drives the parents crazy. But to me these challenges are wonderful, because the parents are just so amazed at what we capture.

Kids are so truthful, some of the best images are not the big smiles but them ignoring me. How cute are those toes and that nose!

But I must admit throwing a baby pig in with a two yearold did offer a new challenge. Harvey didn’t want to listen kind of like Hadley. But never say die!

It was a hoot, I watched as they chased Harvey around and waited for the moment to happen.

and soon to come a new baby brother…

More wonderful challenges.

They had a son and after a few cancellations from lack of sleep and working, I fianlly got to photograph the boy

It was well worth the wait. At 7 weeks old he was alert and making cute expressions, but still little enough to cuddle!

Mom and Dad are so proud as they should be.

But I think my favorite was the matching where’s Waldo shirts…..Sorry Zach……you guys were just way too cute!

But not only that is knowing his dad when he was in High school with my kids. Spencer was the class clown, involved in choir , theatre and was the school mascot. But he has grown into a very caring father.

Zadok was a preemie, so he is small, but let me tell you that doesn’t stop him.

I got lots of smiles from him, but I loved some of the other expressions he had…..not to mention those big blue eyes

So I finally asked my webmaster Guru Matt and apparently they are too big, that is why they look distorted and basically like crap. So please overlook my inability to understand the working of the web, my actual prints look much better.

So here goes another try!

WES & WILL

these 2 little boys have been coming to the studio since they were born. I have enjoyed photographing them over the past years. We thought we would try something different and take them on location.

We travelled to Burris backyard a cool little playground. It is always interesting taking children to places that might distract them from the task at hand. But it gives great natural expressions.

These guys were great they did listen for the most part ;-)

I think I might have got it right this time!
